Artist Statement
This is what I do....
I usually carry a camera in my backpack. Maybe it’s because I am a graphic artist and always need images to work from when creating designs or illustrations. Maybe I am, at heart, a hunter, keeping an eye out for the next good shot. Or, maybe I am simply a voyeur, trying to satisfy my visual desires. Maybe all of the above. Whatever my personal motivations may be, most of these images are presented as a subjective record of my observations as I make my way along the unbeaten path. Some are simply the visual utterances of an artist at play.
The graphic arts images are the product of 40 years of creating visual statements that, more or less, illustrate thoughts, ideas and concepts.
The photos, which are mainly observations that I choose to share, are shot with a Kodak slr digital camera. All work is printed either on Epson Ultra Premium Photo paper or Hahnemuhle fine art paper on an Epson Stylus 4880 printer.
